MOBY FANTASY is inching closer to reality

One of the world’s biggest luxury RoPax ferries for Italian Onorato Armatori is taking shape at Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI) in China. MOBY FANTASY, the first of two record-breaking new-generation LNG-ready vessels was floated out at the yard on Saturday the 6th of November.

MOBY FANTASY and her sister to follow, MOBY LEGACY, are through and through the result of the combined design expertise of OSK Group. Our naval architects in OSK-ShipTech and our interior designers in Steen Friis Design are behind the concept design, the basic design, interior design, and supervision during construction. Technologically, the ferries will be fitted with the latest technologies for energy optimisation, and aesthetically they are designed to cover all passenger needs and will feature a modern, clean look with luxury and ample spaciousness.

MOBY FANTASY – the record-breaking numbers
237m LOA
69.500 gross tonnage
2500 passengers
550 cabins
3800 lane metres
1300 cars or 300 trucks

“Being the designers of FANTASY and LEGACY is a dream-scenario for us – both in terms of the design project itself, but also in terms of the unique constellation where two of our largest clients are doing business together. This is such a significant project where we have brought all our competences to the design combined with the yard’s strength and the owner’s extensive experience,” says Anders Ørgård, CCO of OSK Group.

MOBY FANTASY is planned to enter service in 2023.
