EEDI
Is your fleet complying with the EEDI?
OSK-ShipTech A/S helps clients navigate the regulations and new requirements for energy efficiency and provides consultancy services on design, calculations and compliance for newbuildings.
The Energy Efficiency Design Index is a non-prescriptive and performance-based mechanism. It leaves the choice of technologies in specific ship design to the industry and leaves ship designers and builders free to use the most cost-efficient solutions. The energy-efficiency requirements entered into force on 1 January 2013. The EEDI is mandatory for all new ships, and requirements get progressively tougher over time.
