Is your fleet complying with the EEDI?
OSK-ShipTech A/S helps clients navigate the regulations and new requirements for energy efficiency and provides consultancy services on design, calculations and compliance for newbuildings.
The Energy Efficiency Design Index is a non-prescriptive and performance-based mechanism. It leaves the choice of technologies in specific ship design to the industry and leaves ship designers and builders free to use the most cost-efficient solutions. The energy-efficiency requirements entered into force on 1 January 2013. The EEDI is mandatory for all new ships, and requirements get progressively tougher over time.
Optimum Solutions Within Regulatory Limitations
We design the optimal ships within the limitations given in MEPC 245(66) with the up-to-date EEDI-experience implemented as an integrated part of the design, building and delivery of new vessels.
Mapping of All Implications
We help Owners get the full picture of all the implications of the resolution with regards to required attained EEDI for new ships throughout the design phase, contract phase, building period and final delivery. We help you comply with the EEDI and achieve the optimum solution for the vessel.
Know-how and Network
We apply our accumulated in-depth knowledge about the implications on various ship types combined with recent participation in working groups evaluating current status on the implemented regulations.
Evaluation and Optimisation
We evaluate a wide range of design options for a given set of operational requirements on behalf of the Owner. Based on implementation of the latest and on-going international interpretations of the regulations, we perform CFD-modelling and hull optimisations with respect to both fuel consumption and attained EEDI.
